Technical Execution vs Collaborative Design
There are lots of web design companies that can effectively and affordably execute your specific ideas for your company’s website. There are even DIY tools where you can execute your own ideas and create a website for no cost. However, that may or may not be the right approach for your business. What if you need ideas? What if you want to work collaboratively with a marketing professional to hone and develop your thoughts into solid and effective marketing concepts and strategies?
Unlike many founders of web companies, I came to web design via marketing, not via programming. As a result, I view the creation of your website in terms of how it will help you get your message out to the widest, targeted audience possible. That is a very different approach from starting and ending the project with the technology side of things. At dandelion, we use the technology as a tool, but it is secondary to the ultimate marketing goals of your business. And we believe that the best results will come from collaborative design, where we work together to understand and create the brand and website that will work best for you.
We also believe design matters. It has the power to persuade, and in a crowded and competitive online marketplace, you need to be as persuasive as possible. What’s more, the visual nature of online marketing requires that we pay more attention to how we present ourselves online, not less. Simply plugging your logo and some stock photography into a template will not help you stand out among a crowded field.
. . . at a more fundamental level, we are in the idea business.
Working together with you to develop a message and approach that does help you stand out is what we do differently from the other guys. Yes, we are in the business of designing and building websites, developing business brands, and helping to market your business online. But, at a more fundamental level, we are in the idea business. As we meet and talk with local businesses, we often hear their frustration related to navigating the digital marketing side of their business. They know their business and industry well, but they are not a marketing professional or a logo designer. They need help, not just with the execution, but with the ideas and thought behind those ideas. Does this sound like you?
We are your idea partner.
