We all love a good viral video, and luckily, the internet is CHOCK FULL of them. Generally, internet videos exist for the sole purpose of entertaining us. But this week, we’ve gathered our favorite three (you’ve likely seen them!) and gleaned a little more than entertainment from them. We think they provide a fun way to share some small business marketing inspiration.
Your business message and image matter. Work it!
Draw inspiration from the confidence of this strutting crow. He has a purpose, and he’s not afraid to show it. What is your business message? How are you presenting that message to your audience? In particular, what does your image and messaging look like online? Your website, social profiles, posts, and marketing emails need to boldly, proudly, and consistently say who you are and what you offer. If you feel like your online business presentation is less like our fabulous crow and more like an ostrich (pretending it doesn’t matter), it may be time to invest in those assets.
Sometimes, you don’t know what you’ve got until you shake things up.
Can you believe the tree was holding that much pollen?! It can be very scary to step outside of your comfort zone, especially when it comes to your business. If you’ve been doing the same things to market your business for a while, it might be time to shake things up. You know for sure what you’ll get if you keep doing the same things. What could it look like with a new approach? Think of one new tactic, and try it out this week! Maybe it’s an email to a customer you haven’t heard from in a while, maybe it is a fresh blog post on your website (has it been a while?), or maybe you really shake things up by committing to a whole new way of presenting your business (referring back to our runway-ready crow friend).
Are you stuck?
It happens to us all, especially small business owners. We wear a lot of hats and fight the fire that’s happening in front of us. But that blockage can lead to lost revenue, unhappy customers, and no small amount of stress. What is the metaphorical cow in your business processes? Identifying what is holding you back is most of the battle. This may mean outsourcing specific tasks to outside experts or simply reallocating work to take stress off of a certain team member while maximizing the talents of others.
We hope you enjoyed these. Now, summon your inner strutting crow, get the cow out of your way, and go work it!
